D-Link Wi-Fi Baby Camera Jr. Review

DLinkBabyCameraBefore my husband and I started using a baby camera, creaky floorboards would be our undoing many a times only to wake the baby with our regular checking. We were most conscious when it came to SIDS and found I especially HAD to put eyes on that baby throughout their sleep time.

If you like me feel the need to have eyes on the baby, then the D-Link Wi-Fi Baby Camera Jr. may just be for you, because not only is it a camera, it’s a listening device, a music player, and a microphone. It also has a light sensor which enables night vision to see baby in the dark, all controlled in the convenience of an app on your phone or iPad. Viewing baby now simply means picking up your phone, gone are the cumbersome video units of the past.

While its obvious use is to keep eyes on the baby. Got a young child who gets out of bed and plays in their room but you don’t want to show your face just in case they are being angels? At the press of a button on your D-Link app you can tell your child to get back into bed. “Get back in to bed Will, I see you!”  Have a playroom at the back of the house? Put your D-Link Baby Camera in there to keep an eye on your child while in the kitchen.

My husband was keen for the cot to be out of our room. While babies may sleep a lot, they can also be noisy sleepers, but I knew that my eyes HAD to be able to check on that baby in a flash and better still, without getting out of bed in the dead of winter. That cot wasn’t going anywhere… until the baby camera came along!

DLinkBabyPicAs my daughter got older, she would wake up and start playing with toys in her cot instead of crying for me. I always wondered how long she had been playing for, and sometimes if she had had her nap at all! The D-Link Baby Camera ensures you don’t have to guess anymore.

When it came to my son, he would cry when put in his cot for a sleep. It was hard listening to him unsettled as he was learning to self soothe. With the baby camera you can see how your child is settling and even play a lullaby through the speaker in the camera. If your child settles at your voice, you can talk to them through the app to the camera. Have a favourite music you want to play to them? No problem,  you can do this once again all from the app on your phone to the camera.

We are thoroughly enjoying our D-Link Baby Camera and finding new uses for it with the kids every time we use it. You can learn more about the D-Link at their website.
