DIY Natural Christmas Tree

What you will need:

  • 4 different sized sticks around 12 all together (choose a light wood)
  • One longer stick to act as the trunk
  • Ball of jute twine
  • Scissors
  • Pot or bucket for soil (if bucket place some Christmas paper around it for a more festive feel)
  • Soil to hold tree in place
  • Tinsel to cover soil

Once you have collected an assortment of sticks, place your trunk stick on the floor and arrange the sticks into triangle shapes over the top of it. Use the largest sticks for the bottom of the tree, and as you work up use your smaller sticks to create smaller triangles. (See pictures)

Once you are happy with your design on the floor, start to tie the sticks together using the Jute. You don’t need to be neat and tidy here as this can add to the natural feel of your tree. Cut off any loose Jute ends so nothing hanging.

Now that your tree is constructed, place it into your pot of soil and cover the top with tinsel. The only thing left to do is to get the kids making a star along with some decorations.

This tree is sure to be a talking point in your home this Christmas!
