Hay Day App
Recommended Age 12+.
I am not a farm girl, and you don’t have to be either to enjoy Hay Day. Mind you, if you have ever dreamed of building a farming community only to be caught in the rat race like most of us, then there is a good chance you will thoroughly enjoy this game. Hay Day is a beautiful simulation game mixed with a little time management. Your goal is to juggle the myriad of tasks which involve growing crops, tending to animals, filling orders for the community, and much more. As you complete goals and earn money, you level up giving you more access to farm necessities and trinkets.
There’s a fabulous social element to this game in that you can buy and sell goods with others who play. You can even place an add in the games newspaper if looking for particular goods. I loved visiting other peoples farms and seeing what they had done with their land. While the game is free, it does however have in game purchasing, but you don’t need to purchase to have a fully workable farm, just a little patience. I found it took a while till I felt I wasn’t always waiting for tasks to be completed, but as you progress and get a bigger farm you become busier and not notice the wait times as before. You can though kick your farm into high gear by purchasing diamonds which will make things move much faster.
Ilkka Paananen, the CEO of Supercell tells us “the average session length is around 9 minutes and people pick up the game about 9 times a day.” For us mummy’s that’s perfect. Remember the last time you had more than 9 minutes to sit down? There’s very good reason why this app rates well on the app store. Check it out and read what others had to say. I’m certainly having fun on the farm minus the dirt and smell At the time of this app recommendation, Hay Day was free at the App Store but has in game purchasing as an option.
