Maddison Cookies

Maddison cookies
125g Butter
Half Cup Caster Sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Flour, One and Two Thirds of a Cup
Ready Made Fondant
Food Colouring
Mix 125g butter, half cup caster sugar, 1 egg and 1 tsp vanilla extract together till creamy. When done add one and two thirds of a cup of flour. Mix, then knead and make into a ball. Wrap in cling wrap and place into fridge for half an hour. Take out and use cutters to shape your dough. Place on a tray into the oven at 160 degrees and cook till edges of the cookies golden brown. While cooling, shape your fondant and colour if needed with drops of food colouring until you reach your desired colour . Once your cookies are totally cooled, brush the top with a little milk and lightly place your fondant shape onto the cookies. While the hearts are cute, this recipe gives you a lot of room for creativity in how you choose to present them.

Maddison’s Mum Rebecca made these biscuits for her to take to school to celebrate her sixth birthday. As you can imagine, they were a heart stopping  hit!
