Monkey Preschool Lunchbox App

Monekey Preschool AppBy THUP Games
Age Recommendation 2-5 years.
This was one of the first apps I got for my children and one of the first that I recommend to preschool parents. This is due to the simplicity of the application and ease of use for the kids it is aimed at. Some games to me seem a little off with the age of their targeted audience, not with this one.

What makes this game so easy to use is that the layout is simple and consistent. It also verbally tells the child what it wants them to do, then once they do it, affirms this action by telling them what they have just done or touched. If the child gets the answer wrong there are no bells and whistles, just a simple shake of the monkeys head. Throughout the game verbal praise is given by both the narrator and via the monkey jumping for joy.

In this game you will find no menu buttons or pause option for little fingers to accidently press, which makes for much less “mum something is wrong.”

Kids don’t have to be precise when touching the objects, touch on the edge of the picture, the game will respond. With the puzzle pieces, if the child places them in the wrong place they simply go back to their original spot for the child to try again.

The game is well paced for the toddler and preschooler, & most achievable leading to little frustration. Even with the letters, the application gives your child colour coded cues to assist them in their choices. I also love the fact that they are promoting healthy foods with kids matching a variety of fruit.

It covers numbers, letters, colour, matching, size comparison, odd one out, picture creation via stickers and puzzles and was a winner with my kids.
