Preschool Math with Roxy the Star App
Age Recommendation 2-5 years.
If you liked Monkey Preschool Lunchbox I do believe you will like Roxy the Star. They both had a similar feel to me even though they do cover different skill areas.
This app works hard to both educate and entertain. It does this most effectively through the way it uses music and singing throughout. The fast pace and mixing up of types of activities, also helps to keep kids interested and focused.
It presents kids with the following:
Classification by grouping same objects.
Biggest to smallest by dragging the animals to the right positions.
Writing by moving your finger to write the numbers.
Shape identification but not just labelling, but by talking about differences in side amounts & lengths.
Puzzles that are most achievable for this age group.
Counting and number recognition.
Singing & encouragement of actions taking advantage of the preschoolers love of music & movement. You’ll recognise many classic preschool songs here.
The app has a learning and a play mode. In the learning mode kids are presented with tasks from Roxy. In the play mode, kids are presented with the opportunity to choose learning between number, shape and size where the format is more open to what the child wants to do.
Lots of singing, great basic skills to learn, great fun.
Compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch 3rd, 4th, 5th generation and iPad. Requires iOS 4.3 or later.
