Styrofoam Box Hammering
A woodworking type construction activity that is sure to keep little hands busy.
You will need:
- Short golf tees
- Textas
- Styrofoam boxes
- Kids hammer
It is important to have either short enough tees or a thick enough box that the tees don’t protrude through the other side.
First get the kids to draw different types of lines on the boxes which they can use as a guide for their tees. Alternatively they can simply hammer where they wish, but I found my older kids enjoyed working on the lines.
Before the kids begin, take a moment to show them how to hammer without hurting their fingers. A little advice can go a long way.
Don’t have a kid’s hammer? Try an ice-cream scoop or wooden spoon. They work just as well.
